Spain in 09?!  There is a good possibility of a WAC trip to Spain and France in May, 2009.  The trip would briefly follow the trail of Picasso’s life, plus other fun attractions. More news will follow later, but let me know if  you have an interest.   
 

 

 

WASECA ARTS COUNCIL SEEKS ART PROJECT PRESENTER AND ART TEACHER 
   
The Waseca Arts Council is looking for an individual to teach art classes to children and adults.   This person must be aggressive and willing to develop new educational programs and implement them.  
    Besides teaching children, this individual will present and teach art lessons for a new program at the Waseca hospital.   
The presenter will be working with patients who are confined to the hospital setting, but are not ill.  Usually they will be individuals recovering from surgery.    
      All educational programs will be supervised by Waseca Arts Council director, Pat Beckmann, and the person accepting the position will need to take training at the Waseca Hospital to acquaint them with working in the hospital setting.  

     It is desired that applicants have post high school art education, or experience teaching art.   Applicants should send a letter of interest to Beckmann at the Waseca Art Center.

Exhibition:   At the present time applications are being accepted for the 2010 calendar of exhibitions.  Artists interested in displaying their work for 2009 should mail photographs (preferably slides), a resume, an artist's description of the work, plus a letter of introduction to:   Patricia Beckmann, Director   Waseca Art Center,  410 North State St.  Waseca, MN 56093.  The Waseca Arts Council is a nonprofit organization that does not charge artists to exhibit.

    Mid July is always the time for the County show and one way for the WAC to learn more about all the people in Waseca County who love to make art.   It is always an interesting and eclectic show.
